After the latest wave of Harry Potter sets, it looks like Lego will be doing some more starting in 2019. So far, three sets have been rumored and they all look to be great and will add along nicely to the previous wave of sets. We just know at the moment the sets and not much on pricing, piece count or official release dates.
1) The Chamber of Secrets - This set is rumored to contain Harry Potter, Tom Riddle, Ginney Weasley, and Gilderoy Lockhart. The set will be medium sized and will contain a brick built basilisk with a possible exclusively molded head.
2) Room of Requirement - This set is rumored to include Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Luna Lovegood, Seamus Finnigan, and Colin Creevey. There will also be a lot of play functions as this set will act as a scene with brick built statues of Death Eaters.
3) Diagon Alley - THis set will be rather large and will be withing the price of $200 and $400. The set is rumored to include 12 minifigures which include the following: Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Hagrid, Ollivander, Ron Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, 2 Death Eaters, Molly Weasley, and 2 goblins. The set will be a compilation of 3-4 buildings
All these sets sound great and will offer a great new minifigure selection if the rumors are true. Remember, these are still just rumors so take them with as much credibility as you wish. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on the rumored 2019 Harry Potter wave in the comments section below!

I hope if they do make the Chamber of Secrets and the Room of Requirement, that they build them so they fit with the Great Hall and Whomping Willow set. The Chamber should have a rocky exterior and fit right under the Great Hall. Maybe with a small boathouse extending off it (or even just stairs down from the current boat platform). They could make all of this really cool if they think ahead. The first line of Harry Potter sets way back when were meant to connect. That was before modulars, so hopefully this all works out. That said, another potential $400 set right after the new $400 Hogwarts seems unlikely. It might be cool further down the line, but I hope they give us a break before doing that price again.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Lego keeps with the 40 to 99 dollar contenting sets like the new Hogwarts great hall and wimping willow. I could see Diagon Alley with 3 sets in this range. as I agree that with the 400$ master builder set out it would be highly unlikely that they would have another 400$ potter set....but you never know
ReplyDeleteI hope the sets can connect like the great hall. I also think a prison of Azkban would be another set that would do quite well. I also think that fantastic beasts sets will start to become more of the focus with 5 moves lined up
