Moc Monday: Bigger is Better, Even in Space

The classic Lego space themes of the 70s and 80s have always had a huge following.  To this day, people continue to build MOCs based on lines released 40 years ago.  This spaceship by Jacob Sadovich stands out.  Not just because it's big and scary, and covered in weapons, but because it's scaled to a Technic figure. 

I like it.  Maybe more of us should try building things in this scale.

MOC Monday: Always Bet on Black

GBCs (Great Ball Contraption) are a unique part of the Lego community.  Elaborate pieces of machinery designed to move a ball from one place to another, just designing a GBC module that works is an accomplishment.  GBC builder Berthil van Beek has built a GBC module in the form of a roulette wheel.

When the apocalypse comes, this is where you want to be.  Equipped with everything from solar panels to a garden to a bathroom, Rat Dude's tracked city is ready for anything.

I won't pretend to have seen Mad Max, but I recognize a cool car when I see one.  This car, built by crash_cramer definitely qualifies.

Moc Monday: Xylethrus AMV-1

SHIPtember always brings with it lots of huge spaceship MOCs.  Usually they're sleek and streamlined, but not this one.  Halfbeak's latest model throws all that out, replacing smooth contours with ribbed textures, mechanical details and protrusions of all kinds on every inch of the ship, not to mention the huge, spidery nets mounted on it where you'd expect an engine.

Moc Monday: Giant Space Fish

I'll admit that I have no idea how this is a fish, but I'll take Sheo's word for it.  What I do know is that it's seriously impressive.  When I first saw it, I thought the sphere in the middle was this part, but it's actually this.  Considering how small the Death Star looks, this fish must be enormous.

Moc Monday: Gingko Lodgings

Today, for Moc Monday, we are featuring the most recent build from Brother Steven. The build is quite nice, resembling a sort of sky kingdom. The concept of it also quite unique as the house i built into a tree on a piece of land suspended in the air. Pretty impressive.

Moc Monday: Occupation of Jedha

For moc monday today, we are featuring the recent Occupation of Jedha moc by one case. This huge 5000 piece moc is absolutely stunning! The level of detail in almost every aspect is absolutely fantastic! The color scheme for the ground is great and the microscale Star Destroyer is top notch. My congratulations to one case for this marvelous build.

Moc Monday: Carrots in Space

We often see food built from Lego.  It's almost an everyday occurrence.  However, I can't say I've ever seen real food incorporated into a creation before.  I'm actually pretty surprised at how seamless it is.  Perhaps this will spawn a new genre of food-based Mocs.

Moc Monday: Green Giant

Building mechs is hard.  Building a mech in uncommon colors is even harder.  Inspired by many new parts in yellowish-green, Lego designer Chris Perron decided to build a mech with them.  Although the mech itself is excellent, my favorite part is actually the lava in the base of the model.

Moc Monday: Meltdown

While Brickheadz were and continue to be a divisive subject in the Lego community, they have led to many interesting Mocs such as this one by pasq67.  The scale of the model might throw you off.  It isn't the size of a normal Brickhead, but eight times as large!

Moc Monday: The Bellonatus

Featured today for Moc Monday, we have another fantastic build by Mark of Falworth! His flagship, Bellonatus, of the Vermillion Empire soars high in the sky, ready to protect the kingdom. A detail that truly was exquisite on this build was the gold detailing on the front of the ship. His use of bionicle pieces and others was truly amazing!

There are some things that you just don't wake up in the morning expecting to see.  R2-D2 as a bus is certainly one of those things.  I'm not sure which is more odd about this model by Luc Byard, the concept, or the fact that it works so well.

Moc Monday: Optimus Prime

When I was little, I used to watch the original Transformers cartoon series. (On Netflix.  I'm not that old.). My favorite character was Optimus Prime.  I've always thought his blocky design would translate well into Lego.  I think this build by Anakin Skywalker 2012 has proven me right.  If only it could really transform...

Moc Monday: A Time Machine Fit for a Brickhead

What do you do with a pair of Brickheadz who run around in a time machine?  Why, build a Brickhead sized time machine of course!  This build by jp_velociraptor includes all of the details the DeLorean has in Back to the Future, from the gull wing doors to the plutonium chamber, but in Brickhead proportions.
